Yukon Won't Shift Out Of Park?

My yukon won't come out of park. I apply the brake and the gear shifter won't move. I have had problems before where it seemed hard to take out of park. I have been told it could be the stop light switch or the shift interlock. Could it be anything else?

I agree the brake light switch is the problem 99 percent of the time. It will eventually get worse then go out completely. Without it The system (the electrical, hydraulically not affected) doesnt know you are pressing the brake pedal. No brake light and no shifter release but the brakes do work

-edit- I should have thought to mention this when I submitted this answer. I apologize. You can  easily determine if it is indeed the brake light switch by having someone press the brake pedal and see if you have brake lights.

If you agree that the answer I provided is correct please remember to "accept" and/or mark it as "helpful" so I know I'm doing a good job. Thank you, I would really appreciate it.
