Diy Replacement Of 1996 Gmc C1500 Suburban W Rear Ac W Parts Fr Autozone?

AC system not cooling. Visiting in San Antonio from Florida. Local garage replaced leaking line that kept system cooling for 2-3 weeks. Temp gauge now reads 80F. Added 12oz R-134a this am but cooled for only a few minutes. Can I replace compressor, etc., myself? I have experience doing 3 valve jobs on Toyoto 30 years ago, more recently starter replacement on Suburban, tune-ups, replacement of serp belt on Suburban and Lexus. Would AutoZone parts system come with installation instructions or should I get a manual (I have one in Florida), and which one, or should I download manual or AC specific instructions?
