How To Replace Wipper Motor On 1995 Gmc 3500

Here is the process that will need to be completed to remove and reinstall the wiper motor.

 

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

 

1987-95 Models

  1. Be sure that the wiper motor arm is in the PARK position. The wiper arms should be in their normal OFF position.

  2. Open the and disconnect the battery ground cable.

  3. Raise the hood and remove the exposed cowl cover screws.

  4. Remove the wiper arms. This can be done by pulling the wiper arms away from the glass to release the clip underneath. The wiper arms are splined to the

  5. Unfasten the remaining screws securing the cowl panel and remove it.

  6. Loosen the nuts holding the transmission linkage to the wiper motor crank arm.

  7. Disengage the power feed to the wiper arm at the connector next to the radio.

  8. Remove the flex hose from the left defroster outlet to gain access to the wiper motor screws.

  9. Remove the one screw holding the left hand heater duct to the engine shroud and move the heater duct down and out.

  10. Remove the windshield hoses from the pump.

  11. Remove the 3 screws holding the wiper motor to the cowl and lift the wiper motor out from under the dashboard

To install:
  1. Position the wiper motor in the PARK position.

  2. Position the wiper motor under the dashboard.

  3. Install the 3 screws holding the wiper motor to the cowl.

  4. Install the washer hoses at the pump.

  5. Install the one screw holding the left-hand heater duct to the engine.

  6. Install the flex hose at the left defroster outlet.

  7. Engage the power feed to the wiper arm at the connector next to the radio.

  8. Tighten the nuts holding the transmission linkage to the wiper motor crank arm.

  9. Install the cowl panel.

  10. Install the wiper arms.

  11. Install the cowl cover screws.

  12. Connect the battery ground cable.

  13. Be sure that the wiper motor arm is in the PARK position. The wiper arms should be in their normal OFF position.
