Hot Wire Shorted Causing Problems

The previous owner had a trailer ball installed and trailer wiring. Whoever installed it used regular wire not auto wire, causing a short, I have replaced running light bulbs that were blowen and this did't help. My dash lights,and running lights are still out. Any help in great. Thanks Paul
