Is The Power Steering Motor Bad?

Hey, i am having problems with my yukon. so a couple of weeks ago my mechanic told me my yukon is pushing the power steering pulley out and is eating my timing belt. he has replaced about 3 timing belts and 3 power steering pumps. My question is what is causing this problem? is it the power steering motor because thats what im concluding.
