Stove Burner Turned On But Turn Knobs In Off Position

I purchased the above range Model PLES389ECI in October 2008 when redoing her kitchen.  She never really cooked.  She became terminally ill so ocassionally I used the stove and over the last year that she has been deceased the stove has not been used.  The other day as Executor to her estate I went to her house and upon walking into the kitchen it felt as if someone had turned on the heat.  Finally the burner became full glow.  All knobs were in the off position.  Only the indicator for the burner being on was lite.  Her granite counter tops were very hot.  I feel if I had not gone to her house that day most certainly her home would have caught on fire.  What can you tell me about this problem.  I know their are other models on the recall list that had this type of problem but don't know if this model is - it should be.  Please advise on this if you can at your earliest convenience - my number is 843-810-0146   Regards Judy Muller
