My washer is making a grinding nose as it works and spins

Hello! From what you have briefly mentioned, it sounds as if your washer drum and pulley system (roller wheels and belt) need to be checked for any adjustments or damage. If you are noticing a grinding noise then a professional technician would be required to check all mechanics of the washer from the inside.
