Exterior Of Freezer Comparment Is Very Warm.

The exterior of the freezer compartment is very warm - almost hot - starting at the middle of the comparment to the front of the refrigerator.  The food in the freezer appears to soften/start melting and then refreezes.  What is the cause?

Hello jbreiss1 – From what you have described it seems like you are referring to the perimeter hot tube. It is normal to be warm to touch, however since you feel it is too hot I would suggest verifying that you have the proper clearances around the refrigerator. When was the last time you clean the condenser coils? If you haven’t done so, remove the toe grille and use extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush to remove dust buildup from condenser coils on left side underneath refrigerator.
