My Fridge Is Draining Water

Hi. Since i Bought my Frigidare Frigde, daily it makes a water spill in the floor. I called the service company in PR ( electrolux) and they checked the system and just drained a plastic container close to the compressor, which was filled with some kind of silicone, but they said it was normal. Does the fridge is not supposed to evaporate that water??? Maybe it drains too much for a defective part?? The rest of the system, and temperature callibration was ok for them, and it cools and freezes perfect. I HATE THE water in the floor. Please verify if thats a defect and if thete is a recall or a special service from the company....

Hello - From doing a little research and going on Frigidaire’s site at the bottom of their page where it states “Recalls” they do not have any refrigerator appliances on any recall list. If these suggestions prove to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately and for a second opinion.

There are many reason for this issue to occur, for example the refrigerator could have a crack in the defrost pan, a defrost drain line blockage, a leak from the water supply line for the ice maker, but most cases water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet. Try confirming that the vales are tightened. If the connection is still leaking, turn of the water supply line to the water valve and take the connection apart. You can try using Teflon tape when retightening the connection to ensure a good seal.
