Window Ac Problems

i have a 3 year old frigidaire window ac unit model LRA127CT1 (this is all of the mod# that is on the unit). Problem, it will come on and after a short time the fan speed starts changing itself repeatedly slow, med, fast, and back again, over and over. It will stop awhile then start up doing it again over and over. At first it was once or twice, now it seems to do it SEVERAL times a night. Another thing, once i turn it on and it starts its speed changing routine, i can't turn it off except when i unplug the unit from the wall. Please help me if you can because this is very annoying! Thank you

If the fan changes speed on its own you must have it set on "Auto cool mode," which lets it change speed according to the room temperature. You should in any case be able to turn the unit off without pulling out the plug. If your model has a sample defect you will be able to get Frigidaire to repair or replace it, if it's still under warranty.
