Hello alanbryant3 - If the temperature of the food rises to a level unsafe for a long-term storage, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. After deactivating the alarm and the unit has run approximately 4 hours, the red light should go off. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn unit back on. If the red light continues to stay on, I would contact a professional to move forward accurately. The freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness.
