Baking With A Brand New Ffgf3027ls Gas Range

We bought a brand new gas range from one of your dealers and my wife had a hard time baking on it. It took her a long time to bake fried for my son and it' not even crispy. Do we need to adjust anything inside the oven and how.

Anytime you convert to a new appliance there will be an adjustment period. Newer units are more efficient and often are programmed just a little differently to be in accordance with the current government regulations and safety measures. You may see the top of the unit, elements, and then the oven components, bake and broil elements, operate a little differently than what you are use to. The oven may take a little longer to preheat to the set temperature due to new upgraded insulation and control parts being used by manufacturers today. However if the oven takes longer than 40 minutes to preheat to approximately 375ºF and higher, then we would suggest a professional make sure the unit is correctly calibrated. Your installer should have completed this for you, but could have been overlooked.

Also if the burners are not lighting or heating correctly after a few tries, try to turn the heat down and slowly up the needed temperature. They will heat correctly unless you see an error code. If you do not see an error code or hear any audible beeps, the unit is operating correctly - it just might take some adjustment time getting use to longer cooking periods. When in doubt, I always suggest a professional, especially if you are in warranty, to look at everything to make sure you are operating correctly and properly.
