  • This is a flaw in the unit. Unless your hose is the same diameter as the outlet, you will have this problem.  The water cannot make it into a garden hose since there is a little reduction in INSIDE diameter from the outlet to the hose. The hose ID is smaller. SO water has to build up about 1/4 inch or so to get over the "hump". Unfortunately the ever so slight buildup will make it go into the bucket too! BAD DESIGN....I am going to buy a 90 degree PVC elbow and screw it on the hose outlet and then my hose will connect vertically so there will be no hump. I believe this will solve the PITA problem.sdf

On a similar model  LAD704DUL iff the hose is not the same diameter as the opening on the dehumidifier the water then goes into the bucket.  The solution is a dishwater drain hose with a clamp.  If the water level has to rise above the opening level it goes into the tank. Placing a magazine under the front is a less desirable solution. To see how this works remove the water container, tape the switch that is inside in the on position and see where the water goes.
