Back Waffle Vent Burning

I've had this dryer for 2.5 years and it recently started to smell like my clothes are burning. Upon further inspection, the waffled vent at the back of the dryer is now black and charred. I keep seeing similar posts on other websites about the Affinity, but not this particular model. Is this a DIY fix or do I need to call for repair? Thanks! Briana

Hi Briana!

Thank you for posting this question! You may want to first clean the lint filter entirely and the filter area in the machine. Then the duct work needs to be checked for kinks and air restrictions. If this does not resolve the concern I would recommend that you have it checked by a professional technician to diagnose the dryer, it might be the thermal limiter (fuse like item) in the dryer.

Hope this helps!

Chris
