Where Do You Put The New Key To Be Programmed In The 2014 Escape Titanium

Instructions say to put new intelligent access key to be programmed in "the pocket of the center console" but my 2014 escape doesn't have the center console pocket. It has the slot on the steering post. Do i put the new iak on the steering post?

This video explains it but the short answer is that the key fob insert is either on the steering wheel or in cenetr console.
