Power Steering Failure

i drove about 6 miles with 12 psi in all 4 wheels.i got an alerts "servicr power steering" and after i finish to fill up air i got an alert of "service power steering now" and the whell became very hard to move.i have waited 12 hours and the problem is the same.please advice what could be the problem thanks shai

I doubt if driving 6 miles on tires with low pressure could cause this problem. But if you think that's the cause, here's one possible solution. Your power steering fluid may have boiled and is no longer lubricating the mechanism the way it should. Drain the fluid and replace it with fresh fluid. 

Another possible cause is that it may be a factory defect. The National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) is investigating this exact problem with the 2011 Ford Explorer. It has to do with the power steering assist feature. No recall yet, but that may be something to look into if the power steering assist has gone bad on your vehicle.

there is two things that could be wrong, either your power steering pump is going out or there is no power steering fluid in the reservoir.
