Ford Escape
My son has a 2010 Escape. Recently, the rear window opens without a problem, but the tailgate will not. Pressing the button...no sound...no movement, etc...What can it be?

Hello, it could be as simple as a bad fuse or relay. Fuse #17 controls the liftgate release, high-current fuse #7 controls the liftgate latch, and relay #31F is the liftgate latch relay. Check those (either visually or with a meter) to see if any of them are bad, and if one is bad, replacing it may fix your problem (or if the fuse blows again, it will at least point you in the right direction).
