Throttle Body? Transmission?

Sometimes when I'm trying to stop the Flex AWD, it doesn't come out of gear, the engine races, the car feels like it's being pushed and I have to put it in neutral& press on the gas to get it to stop racing. There seems to be a loud clunk when I put it in neutral.
