Warranty - Transmission - Scheduled Maintenance..... Help.

Hi I have a 2008 Ford Focus SES. I am in Canada. I have an issue with the transmission and supposedly, there is a technical bulletin associated with the issue I have. It should still be covered under the 100,000 KM powertrain warranty. The issue is that i have been getting the normal maintenance done by my local mechanic, not Ford. Supposedly, there is a different maintenance schedule for Canada than the US to maintain the warranty. Specifically, I am being told that I was required to change tranmission fluid at 48,000 KM whereas in the USA, it does not need to be done until 96000. I seem to getting differnt info on whether this is corrector not every way I turn. some info I find indicates this may be correct, others seem to indicate this is only REQUIRED for the trucks Can anyone here confirm if I was really required to do this at 48,000? Thanks
