Car Will Not Start. Shows Red Car With Lock On Dash

I just sold my 2006 Ford Five Hundred to a young mom with 3 kids. She called me this morning to say that the car won't start and there is a red light on the dash depicting a car with a lock on it. I don't have any idea what to tell her. We never received that error when we owned the car.
