Output Shaft Speed Sensor

I need to know where the output shaft speed sensor is on a 2003 ford escape front wheel drive 3.0 v6. It is banging into and out of gears and doesnt seem to know what gear it should be in. I know there are two sensors, one for the speedometer and the tach, and one for shifting. I need to know where to locate the one for shifting. thank you.
