Place a pan under the radiator, loosen the petcock and drain the coolant from the radiator.

    • 2

Place a three-eighths-inch ratchet drive into the belt-tensioner pulley, lift up on the handle and remove the serpentine belt.

Clean the sealing surfaces of the new water pump and the engine block with a clean towel.

    • 7

Lubricate the new o-ring seal with clean antifreeze and install the seal around the mating flange of the water pump.

    • 8

Install the water pump and four retaining bolts with the socket and ratchet.

    • 9

      Install the water pump pulley.

    • 10
