Hi there, and welcome to Helpowl, I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible.
If the car is not starting:
(1) you could have a damaged starter drive (the gear on the starter that engages with the flywheel)
(2) You could ahve damaged teeth on the flywheel
(3) you could ahve a damaged starter AND a damaged flywheel; this is not uncommon as one damaged component can cause damage to the other
(4) The starter mounting bolts may be loose; if the starter is not bolted tightly into position it can change the clearance between the starter drive gear and the flywheel teeth.
I would suggest checking to make sure the starter is mounted tightly to the bell housing to begin with. if it is, then teh next step is to remove the starter to allow a visual inspection of the starter and flywheel teeth to see what component9s) are damaged.
