Signed Up To Face Book When I Should Of Logged In.

I signed up to facebook  when i should og logged in.  I had a email to claim my email address and followed the link and the next thing i'm signing up to face book instead of logging in.  If i delete my face book accound will that allow me to go bakc into my original facebook page?    as when i signed up to face by miskate again i used my original details.  is deleting my facebook account the correct procedure?
