Facebook will send you a confirmation on your email u have to confirm it first.

Down there is a explained way

To reclaim that email address on your account, please take the following steps:

1. Go to the Account Settings page from the drop-down menu at the top of any Facebook page.
2. Click the Email section.
3. Click Add another email and enter your new email address.
4. Enter your password and save your changes.
5. Check your email for a message from Facebook with instructions on how to confirm your new email address and complete this process.
