how do i stop my candy crush notifications from appearing in my friends' newsfeeds? (i don't want others to see what my progress is)

There is an option when you visit your Apps page on Facebook.

Log in to your personal account. Go to Account Settings. Click on Apps. Click EDIT next to Candy Crush. Change to visibility of the app to your preference.
