Abusive Chat Message Not Sent By Me.

A friend that was on my facebook online chat recieved an abusive and rude message that apparetaly was sent from me, my facebook account. The problem is I know i defienately did not send this message or ever chatted to the person online. I have seen this message and although it has my name as the sender I know it did not come from me, how is this possible and how do i prove i did not do it. I can not contact facebook for help and the friend is threatening to take action. I am very very concerened.
