Recognition Of A School On Facebook As A Group That No Longer Exists?

Our old Central High School supposedly cannot be recognized as a group on facebook...why not? Our group must use the current High School designation that almost 40 years of classes did not attend. How do we get officially recognized for all our classmates? Yes, we have a logo and mascot for the high school, but I do not know how to attach it.
