Is This Personal Message Legit?

I just got this personal message and I was wondering if it was a hoax? I have had people compromise my account recently and want to make sure it is legit before I click on anything. The message says it is from facebook and that they are going to disable my account. It wants me to comfirm my account within 24 hours or it will be blocked permanently. I haven't done anything to warrant this message. Can you help me please. TY, Cathy Horacek
