How Do I Delete The Names Of People I've Searched For In The Facebook Search Too

after i've logged on to facebook...i use the search tool at the top of the page to search for people. I would like to know how to remove the names of the people i've searched for. I've tried deleting browser history, cache, etc...of the browser (iexplore 8 and Google chrome) and this still does not work. As soon as a type the letter of a persons name, the people i've looked for (whose names begin with that letter), automatically start popping back up.
