Confussed

i received a notice on facebook that if i didn't change my security settings that my account would be canceled by facebook admin. then it says to clink the add below to select keep receiving adds or oppt out of receiving adds. when i clicked on the add it was to download some download manager which i then uninstalled but i don't want my facebook canceled

My best guess is that it was some kind of phishing email. Always be alert to emails that seem to be from a site or business you are familiar with asking for information about your account or offering a download to fix some supposed problem. Guard your privacy!
