Page Not Available Due To Site Issues

I have not been able to get in to my facebook account for over 3 hours. When I try, I get a message that the account is not available because of site issues. It says it should be fixed in a few minutes. Can you tell me what the problem is. I can get in to my son's account without any trouble.
