The answerer befoer me is wrong. It can be done. I do it all the time. Go to your inbox and on the left side of your brower there will be a list of options under your profile picture. Click on the 4th option which is sent. Check te boxes of the messages you want to delete, then click the delete button at the top. Hope this helps. :)
