You should be able to log out of facebook on your PC or laptop. If you're using a phone, sometimes you may need to go under settings and stop the application from running and delete data and cache from it if you're using an android phone. If you're using an iphone, you may not be able to without deleting the app completely under settings, depending on which app you use.

As for receiving messages from facebook to your email, facebook has recently changed everyone's email to a default @facebook email account. You can go under your settings in your facebook account to change and edit what is sent to your email and which email to have it sent to.
