It uses high heat to help burn any residue or soil left behind in the oven and turn them into ashes. Further details are at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/45357/Electrolux-316520101.html?page=53#manual,

The Electrolux EW30EF65GS is a self-cleaning electric range that utilizes a high-heat cleaning cycle to burn off food residue and grease. This process is called the "AquaLift" cleaning system and it uses water and low heat to clean the oven cavity.

Here's how it works:

  1. Remove all oven racks and accessories.
  2. Pour one cup of water into the bottom of the oven.
  3. Press the "Clean" button on the control panel and select the cleaning level (light, medium, or heavy).
  4. The oven door will lock automatically, and the AquaLift cleaning cycle will begin. The oven will heat up to about 200-250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. The water in the oven bottom will start to steam, and this steam will soften the baked-on food residue.
  6. Once the oven has heated up, the cleaning cycle will end, and the oven will turn off. This process usually takes about 40-60 minutes.
  7. After the oven has cooled down, wipe away any remaining residue with a damp cloth.

It's important to note that the AquaLift cleaning system is designed for light to moderate cleaning, and it may not be effective for heavy-duty cleaning tasks. If there is a lot of grease or burnt-on residue, you may need to use a commercial oven cleaner or a homemade cleaning solution to get the oven completely clean. Additionally, the cooktop on the Electrolux EW30EF65GS range is not self-cleaning and will need to be cleaned manually.
