My Portuguese Boyfriend Needs A Passport

hi my boyfriend is from Azores and has been in the UK since august.he was in Canada before.i want to go to Spain in October and im sure he doesn't have a passport.he will definitely need one to travel,what do i do and who do i contact etc?
