Packing Home Made Cake In Luggage

Am I allowed to take a homemade sponge and shortbread biscuits in my hold luggage when I fly to Madrid, this is a gift for my brother.

Wedding cakes (or other cakes) are allowed as cabin baggage only and they need to meet cabin baggage size requirements. They must be stored in the overhead locker or under the seat in front of you, not carried on your lap. Cabin crew are unable to store cakes.
