Do I Need A Passport To Fly From Gatwick To Jersey?

Hey! I want to fly to jersey next weekend but my passprot expired in July! A few people have said I can fly using my driving licence! Is this true?

You need the passport, because Gatwick is in the United Kingdom, and that is another country.
