Id For Internal Flights

I am a British Citizen wishing to fly from London to Edinburgh in the next fortnight, however I have just sent off my passport for renewal and may not receive my new one before the date of the flight. I understand that I still need to bring photographic ID with me on internal flights when collecting tickets, but would a colour photocopy of my old passport suffice? I am happy to bring proof of address or anything extra that's needed but I do not own a Drivers license. Many Thanks, K
