Dyson Stopped Working

I plugged my Dyson DC 18 slim into the outlet, when I jiggled the cord it was turning on and off, then I saw a little bit of smoke coming from the cord/ outlet and my Dyson doesn't start anymore. I bought a new cord and changed the reset button cause it was black but not the on/ off switch, that was fine. My vacuum still won't turn on, what could it be?
