Dish Remote Doesn't Work With Hdtv On
Hooked up new HDTV to dish network receiver via HDMI cable--reception is great--able to use the buttons on the receiver to bring up menu, program guide, change channels, etc....dish remote doesn't work. Shut the tv off and the remote works.

Hello michyt6256, it sounds like you are having IR interference between the remote and the the TV or other source. A couple of things to try are to turn down the brightness of the TV or remove any new sources away from the receiver that have been installed. You can also place a piece of paper over the IR sensor on the receiver to see if this helps.It should allow the remote to work but block interference.
