I Just Bought An Hd Tv. Do I Need A Special Cable?

I simply moved the cable from my old TV to the new one. Do I have HD automatically or do I need to order a different service?

Hello, this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. In order to receive a true HD picture you need an HDTV, HD receiver, HD cabling and HD programming. HD cabling would either be an HDMI cable or Component cables. An HDMI cable is a somewhat rectangular shape and component cables are 5 different colored cables (red, blue, green, red, white). So if you do not have either of those, they will need to be upgraded, possibly your receiver as well if it is not HD.
