Their 129 HD satellite is down, you were probably on a HD channel when it failed. You can still receive standard def programming. You need to recheck your switch, go into the menu, installation, dish pointing, and recheck the switch. save the changes when it says fewer satellites were found. Let it redownload the guide, and then at least get programming from the 110 and 119 satellite. If after doing that it just gives a black screen on the standard def channels, your receiver is locked up,Just  pull the smart card and then reinsert, let it redownload, and you should at least have standard Def programming.

Once everything gets resquared back to normal and the 129 is working again, would need to recheck the switch as described above, and then let it redownload the new channel list guide so it lists and sees the hd channels. Dont know when it will be back up, I am a dish dealer, and not getting straight answers. I was told that communication was lost with the bird, which is typically not a good thing.

Can't tell you when it will be back, but can help you to view:   As far as I can see, it is mainly HD channels that are affected.  If you select your channel from the "My Channels" Guide page (instead of "Favorites" or "My HD Channels" and select the one without the HD against it, you will be able to view it.

Whatever has happened has only taken out HD, but not the low-res stuff.

Problem seems to be the HD, so you need to switch to SD. Go to menu, then 8, then 1. Channel preference should be HD only. Save. Click on program guide and select only SD channels. Hope this helps, don't know how long it will be to fix whatever is going on. All the phones and chats seem to be overloaded at DISH.

I came across the comments on here and would like to assure everyone that problem with the 129 satellite that was causing the channel losses has been fixed!  The channels should be back up and running; let me know if any of you are still having problems with that!
