Hi, DISH does not charge any lease fees on any of our accounts but there are account level fees that are charged for services and they are the same for owned and leased equipment. The $6.00 DVR fee is placed an every account that has an active DVR on the account. This charge used to be for every DVR on an account but it is now an account level fee that is charged for all the DVRs on an account. There are also receiver fees. The first receiver cost is included in your programming package with DISH but you do pay a set fee for each additional receiver active on an account. The fee is as follows:
Solo Receiver (HD or SD) $7.00
Duo Receiver (HD or SD) $14.00
Solo DVR Receiver (HD or SD) $10.00
Duo DVR Receiver (HD or SD) $17.00
The only real advantages to owning equipment is that you can set-up your own account and no have to agree to a 24 month commitment and that it is yours and you will be able to sell or transfer the receiver in the future. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to email me directly. Thank you!
