Okay, unplug it, wait a moment, and plug it back in. Start it up, manage to use the remote to change the source to something else. A moment later: frozen, no input recognition. I went through this song and dance a couple times before referring to the review mentioning this issue. The reviewer noted that Denon tech support could not help them and the unit was simply replaced. So I did the same.
(note, I can tell it has frozen because the circling light stops circling)
So now I have my second RCD-N10 (S/N within 20 units of the first). It works perfectly fine, but I did not allow it to update. I'm somewhat reluctant to do so as I'd like to avoid bricking another machine. That being said, I also do not want to be stuck with a machine that may be unable to use HEOS should a future update be necessary for the machine's compatibility with the app. Nor do I want to inadvertently brick it outside of the return or warranty period.
I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone else besides myself and the reviewer have had or heard of this issue with the RCD-N10 machines? If maybe there is something we did during the set up that conflicted with the update? Maybe a certain batch of machines that have this issue (reviewer suggested that Denon told them their N10 was built in 2018, so maybe it couldn't handle the update)?
