My Denon Rcd N7 Freezing

This seems like a pretty rare phenomenon. I've only ever found a single user review that mentioned the same issue I experienced. Towards the end of the set up of my first RCD-N10 unit, I was prompted to update the unit. Makes sense, most internet-enabled devices now have day-1 updates. After the update, the unit froze up trying to load Internet Radio (default source, did not switch to this). The machine did not register any input of any sort. Okay, unplug it, wait a moment, and plug it back in. Start it up, manage to use the remote to change the source to something else. A moment later: frozen, no input recognition. I went through this song and dance a couple times before referring to the review mentioning this issue. The reviewer noted that Denon tech support could not help them and the unit was simply replaced. So I did the same. (note, I can tell it has frozen because the circling light stops circling) So now I have my second RCD-N10 (S/N within 20 units of the first). It works perfectly fine, but I did not allow it to update. I'm somewhat reluctant to do so as I'd like to avoid bricking another machine. That being said, I also do not want to be stuck with a machine that may be unable to use HEOS should a future update be necessary for the machine's compatibility with the app. Nor do I want to inadvertently brick it outside of the return or warranty period. I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone else besides myself and the reviewer have had or heard of this issue with the RCD-N10 machines? If maybe there is something we did during the set up that conflicted with the update? Maybe a certain batch of machines that have this issue (reviewer suggested that Denon told them their N10 was built in 2018, so maybe it couldn't handle the update)? Thanks
