Why Does My Dell Optiplex 740 Come On By Itself

Greetings Sgtstharry !

The first thing you'll want to check is, if 'auto power on', is on in the BIOS. Here's how:

Enter the BIOS: Power up the unit and when you see the Dell screen, start hitting the F2 key till you see the set-up menu.

Once in the set-up menu, go to 'power management' then 'Auto Power On' and see what it's set to.

Please reply back if it's already set to 'off' and I'll look into this further if needed.
