Hi aveKS,

Make sure the latest ‘Security’ Software, Firmware and Drivers are installed on the system from the Dell support page: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/latitude-e6230/drivers

You can either use the Dell ControlVault to set up fingerprint functionality or you could use the built in Windows Feature.

Check out the Microsoft Guide here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/can-i-use-a-fingerprint-reader-with-windows

For Dell ContolVault information, see: ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/Common/latitude-e6230_White%20Papers115_en-us.pdf

Thanks,

Shawn B
