Microphone Is Not Functioning

Hi! How come that my laptop DELL N series 5420 do not have microphone on in audio settings, but my speaker was functioning well. when i go to control panel and click sounds icon it appears that no microphone in recording and need an audio input device warning, but have speakers on plugged and set up already.Is it not automatically on the microphone when the speaker is on set mode? or do I have to install new software or driver? please give me feedback as soon as possible.thanks....

Hi,

My name is Rathish and I am working with Dell Social Media Team.

You have mentioned in the post that you are not able to see a microphone option in audio setting.

The first step which we can try is to update the driver of the computer. For that please click on the link below-

Please look for Audio drivers and install it on the computer.

Once the drivers are update. Please check if you are able to find the microphone option in control panel.

In order to help you with the issue further. I would like to know few details-

ð Was the microphone working before without any issue?

ð May I know the operating system which you are using?

ð Please also try an external microphone and check if that works.
