How To Reset The Bios Password

when I turn on the computer it is asking for a password, how do I reset it???

If it is asking for a bios password and you have forgotten it you will need to contact Dell Support to have them reset it for you. Once they verify that you are the owner of the computer they will give you a generic Bios Password.

Removed the back bottom two screws and slide the plastic backplate off. The remove three screws to remove the foot stand piece. Take the hinge cover off of the folding leg. Remove one screw and slide the memory over toward the top and lift off. Remove 4 screws from the motherboard cover and remove cover. Remove the CMOS battery. Move the jumper nearest the battery from position one/two to two/three. connect power, keyboard and power on. It should show prompt that BIOS has be reset to default values. Hit F1 to continue. Then power off, reverse the order to reassemble.
