Keyboard Won't Work

My Dell Inspiron N5110 overheated while charging and now the keyboard won't work the mouse will move but it won't open anything and all the desktop loads and the icons but nothing will respond

Hi, 

Restart the computer and the moment it starts start tapping the F2 key to boot the computer to BIOS and check if the keyboard works there or not? 

Press F9 to reset the BIOS to factory default and restart the computer and check if that helps. 

We will try to login to safe mode. To login to safe mode switch on the computer and start tapping the F8 key which would take you to Advanced Boot Option screen. Using the up and down arrow key, select Safe Mode to boot the computer into Safe Mode.

Once the computer boots to safe mode, do a system restore and take the system to a prior date when it was working fine. At times it happens due to the updates not being properly installed on the system.
